A couple of iPhone ideas…

November 19, 2007 · 1 Comment

Okay so first is a simple one… a light.lightOn my iPhone, in iPod, in videos lives a file named “1White.m4v”. Its a 30 second flash video of a blank white screen, I use it as a flashlight. What would be better is a light app, that you could set preferences, length, behaviors, ect. Maybe called Bright light, Flash light, Night light, but not iLight.

-and “Quadrants”

My only real “issue” with my iPhone is the lack of shortcuts, of any kind, especially a “speed dial” shortcut. So with this you can set a “hot corners” like effect on the “slide to unlock” screen. Using a thumb and finger, or two thumbs, hold one in the quadrant of your choice and unlock with the other.quads

(The white lines in the illustration on the right would be invisible on actual phone)

This would give “speed dial” a shortcut, or stocks, contacts, iPod, calender, stopwatch, text messages, ect. even iLight. Not being a developer of any kind, I hope somebody is making these - will see these and make these - will see these and tell someone who can make these - or tell someone to help me write better, please

Roundup: buying T-shirts online

September 22, 2007 · 1 Comment

Here is a list of the top T-shirts sites on the interwebs. These sites are more artists and designer based.

Good for purchase, or for finding some shirt making inspiration.

-

Design By humans

They say “Buy Tees. Get Noticed. Be Human”

mmolai says ” You can buy and rate shirts, submit and make $$$”

In the $15 - $24 range.

-

Digital Gravel

They say “Digital Gravel first hit the web on 1.19.99, as the first site dedicated exclusively to selling gear from underground and independently owned brands”

mmolai says ” This site has more of the known brands, and manages to stay one of the better shirt sites”

In the $24 - $60+ range.

-

Heavy Tees

They say “Nothing at the moment, as their site is down???”

mmolai says ” More good tees and tshirt of the month club”

In the $ regular range.

-

Owl Movement

They say “We are the ironically cute! We are the tongue in cheek adorable!”

mmolai says ” Yeah they’re cute… Its nice to see they are against distressed look”

In the $12 - $20 range

-

Commune

They say “…”

mmolai says ” Clean simple site, no extras, just good shirts”

$25 range

-

Oddica

They say “The focal point of our company is our artists” and “We love art and design, typography”

mmolai says “Look at that shirt sale, 3 or more for $16 each”

In the $20 - $16 range.

-

2ktshirts

They say ” Way to much… Check their “about us” link on the top of their site”

mmolai says ” It’s a toss up between them and oddica on whose the best” and “Check the Geoff McFetridge “I’m rocking” shirt”

In the $35+ range

-

If you feel I have neglected to mention one of your favorite sites, feel free to post them in the comments.

American Apparel makes the best shirts.

Also, Design by Humans has a great page for those curious to the styles of screen printing. They call it screenprinting 101

A hundred for your time

September 7, 2007 · 1 Comment

With the news that Apple inc. will soon be giving back a $100 to its early adopters, I spent some time thinking about what to purchase (then made a list).

The “little money to spare” trio

-

The Shuffle $79.00

shuffle

Still mmolai’s all time favorite iPod.

Tiny and cheap with $30 to spare. If you don’t already own this you should now.

-

iLife’08 $79.00

iLife

Get the upgraded super iTeam of iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, iWeb and iDVD.

They say iMovie’08 is “not that bad” … I agree.

-

The Apple wireless keyboard $79.oo

apple wireless

These new thin keyboards are… thin and new.

Go wireless and ditch that ugly number pad “train wreck” of a right side.

-

The “Right at a $10o” crowd

-

.Mac $99.95

dot_mac

“Your life. On the internet”

For sharing your iLife and online file storing.

This is the kinda thing we have all thought about, but never wanted to pay for… so maybe now.

-

Refurbished 2g nano $99.00

nano

You’ve all seen them…

-

AirPort Express with AirTunes $99.00

air tunes

Wireless print and stream iTunes to your home stereo.

Perfect for those with an apple laptop, who love their music.

-

Spend another $30

-

Apple Bluetooth Headset $129.00

headset

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you already have your mind made up about this one.

-

Leopard probably $129.00

leopard

If you can wait this one out, its your best investment.

-

(opinion) While there are lots of other choices, these are the nobrainers .
